Happy Easter!

I just finished watching Easter Parade, an old Irving Berlin musical made in 1948. It's basically about a dancing couple that breaks up and finds new partners that they end up falling in love with. The movie reminded me of other good oldies such as Singin' in the Rain, Holiday Inn, The Wizard of Oz, White Christmas, and so many more. That was probably due to the assemblage of dancing and singing actors, the time period, and the same basic story lines. But, I think it is important to remember that the meaning of Easter goes much deeper than painted eggs, pink bunnies, and marshmallow chicks. The real Easter story, in a way similar to the "Easter Parade", is a lot like a love story. It involves a man by the name of Jesus, who loved the world and everyone in it so much that He was willing to die to keep us from eternal torture. After He died, He rose from the dead to conquer death once and for all to those who receive Him. That's the real story. (You can read more about it here.)
