Over 60 years ago, August 6, 1945 to be exact, America dropped its first atomic bomb on Hiroshima in Japan. We were in the middle of WWII and were not disposed to fight longer than we absolutely had to. When times got rough and the Japanese would not listen, we decided it was time to drop our newest weapon. Unfortunately, over 70,000 were killed because of this awful event and thousands more were injured. Three days later, America dropped its second atomic bomb on Nagasaki, this time killing 42,000. It was a most terrible time.
The first atomic bombs were put together at Los Alamos in New Mexico. The inventors initially used uranium for the weapons, but later changed to platonium when they found that it worked better.
In a movie regarding the making and use of atomic bombs, plenty of video and pictures were provided to display what such an explosion truly felt and looked like. The images were quite vivid and detailed. I think the movie put the whole event under a different light and inflicted (mental) pain and regret on many. As a whole, the movie was informative, descriptive, and accurate for as much as I can tell.
