Today marks the return of Biola’s mission trip to China. I still don’t know exactly why God kept me home this summer, but as I look back on everything that has happened during the time period I would have been in China, I am not disappointed…
-cutting my hair
-counseling at summer camp
-praying with a girl as she committed her life to Jesus
-making awesome friends with 5th/6th grade girls (who now email, write, and even call me!)
-re-establishing a few relationships with friends back home
-making apricot jam and applesauce with my mom
-becoming a pro at Mario Kart Wii (Hudson, watch out!)
-laughing hysterically with Joseph about all of our miscellaneous inside jokes
-resting… a lot
Much has happened. Much has been learned. And I’m sure, much is still to be learned as I continue to reflect. I don’t have a clue what God’s reasoning was/is in keeping me from China, but I’ve been learning a lot in the process and I figure He knows what He’s doing a lot better than I do anyways. Somehow, He’s still got the whole world in His hands... and it's all under control.

Well, who knows what all you're going to learn this summer. But if nothing else, I'm glad that you were home so we could have more time to hang out and talk. Plus, you couldn't have missed out on Palm Springs!!
Lizzie, I praise God for your testimony of faithfulness and obedience to God (regarding the China trip). Just thinking back to your sharing about the trip and your decision not to go is an encouragement.
Seems like your summer has been wonderful... see ya in a month (ish)!
Been trying to figure out how to post a comment... get back to you later.
Sounds like a good summer!
...hmmm....Mario Kart Wii huh? I've had a competition with that game with a guy back at Biola. Care to get in on the action sometime??
;)
Oh Karyn... you're on!
