He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." - Psalm 91:1-2Trust. When we realize we are under God's refuge, we have absolutely nothing to fear. That doesn't automatically mean that we will get endless amounts of sleep, but that we can rest, in complete trust that God is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do. God is in absolute control. The more who know who He is, the more we can trust that He actually is in absolute control and that we have nothing to worry about. God IS our refuge and fortress. The Psalm goes on to say that He will "cover you with his feather," "be your shield," make sure that "no harm will befall you" and "no disaster will come near you," "guard you," "lift you up," "rescue, protect, deliver, honor, satisfy...", He will even "save you from the fowler's snare"! Maybe you have a more elaborate vocabulary than I do, but personally, I don't know what a fowler is... but I DO know that whatever it is, I don't have to worry about it because God has got me covered. God is my shelter. Do I believe it? Do I trust Him to be that for me?
The more I think this over, the more I am convinced simply that trust and rest are connected; where you find one, you necessarily find the other.
P.S. You should read ALL of Psalm 91! :)
