Heaven Beckons Me...

*If you have not done so already, please read my post "This is Jesus in His Glory" prior to reading this one. "Heaven Beckons Me..." was written as an addition to the previous post and will make much more sense if read in correct order.

Oh, it all goes together so nicely! I read Hebrews 9 today and let me tell you something: it is AMAZING! It's like the culmination of everything I've been learning yesterday from that song and what I learned over the weekend at Women of Faith. Hebrews 9 explained why Jesus came and what it meant. See, under the 1st covenant, a high priest entered the Most Holy Place, where only he could go, and ask God for repentence of sins for both he and his people. Of course, bloodshed was also necessary so... sins were forgiven by the sacrifice of goats and calves. When Jesus came, He offered Himself as that goat to be sacrificed for the sins of the people... only He was blameless. If we were previously redeemed by a goats blood, how much more were we cleansed by the blood of our perfect, blameless and Holy Savior Jesus?!! And He did not enter in the Most Holy Place. Instead, Jesus entered into the place of the Holy of Holies, the Lord God Most High who is not only holy, but is Holy, Holy, Holy (Isaiah 6:3)...

"For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into Heaven itself; now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf." -Hebrews 9:24

Can I get an Amen?! It is by this innocent bloodshed that we are free of sin now and forevermore when we run to Him with eager arms willing to accept it! And, to those of us who have chosen to accept this life with Jesus Christ, acknowledging His Saving Grace, let me tell you: WE ARE FREE INDEED!! Jesus died, He covered all of that sin for every person no matter how little you are or how big your sin is. Not only that, but He conquered that sin - He rose from the grave victoriously that it may never return to haunt us again. Ladies and gentlemen, This is Jesus in His glory! And He's coming back "to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him." -Hebrews 9:28
